The Valiant Lady: Virgin Voyages premiere

Ahoy! Have you ever been on a cruise?

By Anna Purpurpurpur

After the COVID-19 outrage became a new norm, the cruise voyages are back! I’ve been kindly invited by the Virgin Voyages to attend the launch of their new ship The Valiant Lady, a sister to the Scarlet Lady. Scroll down to see how it was!
Important: I wanted to mention that the SARS-CoV-2 protective measures were on high level. Before departure we had to make a lateral flow test as well as to provide all the data on our vaccination status.

A few numbers about this ship: the capacity is 2770 people, the overall number of desks is 17 and 9 of them are for the passengers, the length is 278 m and the tonnage is 110000gt!

Our journey started near the London Bridge where we took an Uber boat downstream to Tilbury port (there are approx 40km between them). This itinerary is just a feast for the eyes because you cross so many London landmarks such as Tower Bridge, the Shard, St Paul’s Cathedral, O2 arena, Canary Wharf, Greenwich and many more.

Exploring the Valiant Lady

Upon our arrival we filled in some paperwork and went exploring the cruise that was all for ourselves! We also were welcomed by DJs like Tom Grennan, MistaJam, James Hype, Camden Cox, and Diplo. The casino and the shop area will open their doors when the ship would be ready for the travellers.

Overall there are 1408 cabins on board, varying from the Insider cabins to the suite cabins. Our cabin included a bed, a TV, a restroom with a shower and a small balcony looking outside.

The interiors were really to fall in love with. I really loved how the naval theme was included into many of the designs too – and the Manor maze was really spectacular reminding me of the Tokyo TeamLabs Planets and Yayoi Kusama pieces of art!

The Valiant lady has over 20 different eating options and bars, all unique and with their own different vibes, including The test kitchen, Gunbae Korean BBQ, The Pizza Place, and many locations for the ones with a sweet tooth. We went to the Wake restaurant with a great heartwarming menu, and were not disappointed with our choice.

The upper desks were the Cabanas, Outdoor jogging path, Yoga studio, Sports and Athletic areas, Sun cafe and Sun cafe club, and an Aquatic area –  and there are group classes on the way!

As for the activities, they all can be easily tracked through the Virgin Voyages app.

See the video on this experience on my Instagram page too! Would you love to give the Valiant Lady a ride?

Hope you liked my blog,
Yours,
Anna
