Chelsea in Bloom 2026: Out of This World

By Anna Purpurpurpur

End of May in London means one thing: Chelsea Flower Show and Chelsea in bloom! And the theme of this year is Out of this World.

The Chelsea in Bloom lasts from 18 till 24 May. Now the streets of Chelsea are decorated with spaceships, aliens, astronauts, the Tardis from Doctor Who and astrological signs. Besides that, there are numerous antique figures and mythical characters here too, linked to the constellations or fantasy stories!

This year’s street festival marks the 21st anniversary of the Chelsea in Bloom. The main locations to admire the installations are as usual the Sloane Square, Sloane Street, Pavilion Road, Duke of York Square and King’s Road.

UFOs, planets and spaceships are presented by David Mellor, Zara and the Ivy.

Some of the prettiest astrological displays include the Pegasus on the Sloane square, Trinny, Alice and Olivia, and Trilogy.

The Ancient Greece and Rome allusions were played around by Cosmetics à la Carte, Jonak, Kiki McDonough, and Oliver Peoples.

Aldo spot the display by Ixchel inspired by a Mayan goddess, and giant alien carnivorous plants by Moyses Stevens.

And pretty flowers, both real and fake, were presented by Jessica McCormack, Cartier, Annoushka, and Hackett.

A special installation featuring a huge floral planet Earth with various giant flowers and animals celebrated the 100th anniversary of David Attenborough!
