I’m sure you know about Marrakech and Fez, but what about Meknes, one of four imperial cities of Morocco?🇲🇦 It was founded in the 11th century and for centuries remained a military citadel until Moulay Ismail, the sultan from the Alaouite dynasty, made it the capital in the 17th century.
Save your list of what to see there: 🔸Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail 🔸Bab Mansour 🔸Royal palace and Agdal reservoir 🔸Place El Hedim 🔸Medina of Meknes: Museum of Meknes, Museum of Music, the former psychiatric hospital for women in Dar Chrifat, and the library and mosque of Jamaa Lakbir open to Muslims only

New guide is live at purpurpurpur.co.uk: Rabat, Morocco!
Rabat is located a bit far away from the usual tourist itineraries of Morocco. It’s the modern capital city and the main administrative center of the country for more than a century since the French transferred it here from Fez in the early 20th century. Besides that, Rabat is the cleanest and most organized Moroccan city of all we visited!
Rabat was founded in the 12th century by the sultans from the Almohad dynasty, thus it’s the fourth imperial city of Morocco (we visited all of them) alongside Marrakesh, Fez, and Meknes. Although its population is just below 600 thousand, together with Salé and Kénitra on Rabat’s sides, it doubles in size and makes quite a large metropolitan area.
It took us 1.5 hours by car to get here from Casablanca, but you can also go by train.

A must-visit modern attraction in Manila, Philippines? 📍DNA Museum @dna.museum DNA stands for the Digital National Art Museum, and it has the same concept as the TeamLab museums in Japan, the art museums in Dubai, and the Art and Science Museum in Singapore. There are 12 immersive rooms with various installations, all dedicated to various natural objects or natural phenomena. Actually, all the graphics and music synchronization are really good, and you will definitely enjoy your visit. I was really surprised to see installations of this level in Manila. At the very end of your visit, you can participate in an immersive drink experience. I tried a similar one in Dubai, and I absolutely had to try this one as well. A bare branch starts blooming once you receive your chosen drink, and once the Sakura petals stop falling, a small fish appears in your cup. Absolutely magical! The DNA Museum is also located within the Ocean Park area. The majority of museums in Manila are closed on Mondays – keep this in mind – but the DNA Museum is an exception....

ad As a frequent flyer from London, I’m always excited to explore various venues in the Heathrow airport, and this time we came to Gordon Ramsay Plane Food Market at Heathrow Terminal 5!
This is a venue where you can find the most loved dishes from four @gordonramsayrestaurants - Lucky Cat, Street Burger, Street Pizza and Fish & Chips 🍴🥢We went for chicken & avo burger, tom kha glass noodles with chicken and bangers&mash from the kids menu.
Enjoying your food while watching the planes? It’s a yes from me! ✈️ Besides that, kids under 10 receive a free backpack with some crayons and activities!
One of the most kids-friendly spots in Manila: Dessert Museum @dessertmuseum The Dessert Museum is an interactive venue divided into eight different rooms, each celebrating a particular dessert famous in the Philippines.
Doughnuts, bananas, dairy products and milk tea, chocolate and cake pops, halo-halo, marshmallows, candy canes, ice cream…sounds good, right? There are many play zones and slides for kids – and besides that, you get a voucher to receive sweets and ice creams throughout your journey!
For an extra charge, you can paint your own cake in a café at the end of your route! We booked our experience in advance – I suggest you do that as well. You’re given an art palette with differently colored creams (we went for K-demon hunters), edible gold leaf, and various sprinkles.

Have you already visited the rebranded London cable car with the best views over the Royal docks, Thames and the O2 centre? Glass gondolas might sound costly but are definitely worth it. And yeah, I lived in London long enough to remember it as Emirates Air Line when it just opened in 2012😂 As a bonus, come to the Mudchute farm afterwards!

Where to stay in Bahrain: During my previous trips, I stayed at the Conrad and Sheraton, but for our third time in Bahrain we went for a hotel outside Manama:
The Raffles Al Areen Palace is an oasis in the desert located close to the Bahrain international circuit. This hotel is a hidden gem of the country for those who would like to spend some relaxing time in Bahrain in an extremely aesthetic environment. It looks like a real Arabic palace and has a nice territory with water flowing around, palm trees, frangipani and bougainvillea blooming and even a small flamingo lake We stayed in a private villa – it’s the biggest villa I’ve ever stayed at so far! We had a courtyard with pool and jacuzzi, an inner and outer dining spaces, a reception, a bedroom, a walk-in wardrobe and a massive bathroom. Upon arrival, we had lovely fresh flowers and fruits delivered to our place – and I fall in love immediately with places that serve me rambutans. In villa dining in the Raffles Bahrain has fantastic selection of Arabic dishes as well as some Asian cuisine as a tribute to the iconic Raffles hotel Singapore. Besides that, I had an amazing body treatment with scrub, wrap and massage at the SPA village – highly recommended! For breakfast, you can choose hot dishes from the menu (like eggs, pancakes, waffles etc), and bread and some mezze are served per each table additionally. On some occasions like weddings taking place in a hotel there’s also a small buffet with pastries, cheeses, and fresh veggies and fruits. They also have a kids club, a nice cafe and a few restaurants available for the guests as well. Overall, our experience was extremely enjoyable, and I’d gladly return there.

Important tips for visiting Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park in Thailand:
🔸The park is closed during the monsoon period (usually November- mid December) Check the official website for the info in advance.
🔸You can access the park only by booking through licensed tour operators. There are numerous tours available, from bigger boats to speedboats and long-tail boats; the majority are group ones, but you can go for a private one too. We went for a private speedboat and it was the best decision ever – we were able to move around at a comfortable pace.
🔸The entry fee has to be paid at the rangers station Koh Mae Koh island or at the Visitor Centre on Ko Wua Talap depending on the requirements from your operator. And bring cash to pay for your entrance!
🔸There are two different hiking trails here: the easier one – only 50 metres up – at Koh Mae Koh island, and a really tough one by the visitor centre on Ko Wua Talap. Bring comfortable shoes, sunscreen and hats!
🔹What is it? Ang Thong park is located about 1–1.5 hours from Koh Samui and is one of the most popular day trips from Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Krabi. Overall, Ang Thong Park consists of 42 islands and covers an area of 102 square kilometres.
🔹 Why is it special? First, it’s simply pretty with all its he limestone formations, greenery, white beaches and turquoise water. But besides it, these islands are home to some beautiful animals such as oriental pied hornbills, white-bellied sea eagles and dusky langurs, as well as fish and plants including the endemic Ang Thong Lady’s Slipper Orchid, found only here.
