This is not Eiffel Tower, that’s Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER!

Known as Nagoya TV tower till 2021, it’s one of the masterpieces of Tachi Naito built in 1954.

After the recent renovation a hotel occupied a few floors and there is 90-meter high Sky Deck and 100-meter high Sky Balcony. During our visit, there was The Naked Sakura Tower art project: the cherry blossoms along with some other spring flowers are projected on the windows of observation desk.

By the way, this is Tachi Naito who introduced a new earthquake proof concepts and is the architect behind Tokyo Tower too.

I’ll never stop saying this: Kyoto is a must in your itinerary, especially if you’re visiting Japan for the first time!
Although it’s not an administrative capital of the country any longer (the capital was moved to Tokyo in 1868 once the power of the shogunate was over and the Imperial family wanted a new start), it’s undoubtedly still its cultural capital.
It’s a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it has so many historical monuments and sites you won’t be able to see a fraction of them in a day!
I’ve prepared a list of the most famous locations and things to do in Kyoto: you’ll probably need at least 3 days to see those as they are located quite far away from each other, spread over 11 different wards or districts. Check this on Purpurpurpur.co.uk.
This year I visited Kyoto for the third time - and I was so blessed with late Sakura blossoms🌸🌸🌸 #purpurpurpur_guides🔎🌎

Tap to save the most popular modern district of Seoul among locals!
📍Seongsu is a so called Brooklyn district of Seoul. It’s a hipster cool place that used to be shoes district. Now there are hundreds of small cafes, independent shops and even a large Dior shop! Seoul forest is very close to it too.
Can you imagine that Seongsu was of the most tagged locations on Instagram in 2022? #purpurpurpur_guides🔎🌎

📍Gyeongbokgung Palace of Seoul, or the Palace greatly blessed by Heaven

Gyeongbokgung Palace is a complex of multiple buildings that served as the main palace of Joseon dynasty since 1395 for over two centuries.

Then it was burnt down to ashes in 1585 during the Imjin War and was restored in the 19th century. Its condition was miserable during the Japanese presence in Seoul and during the Korean War because many buildings of the palace complex were deliberately destroyed.
This pitiful situation continued for the most of the 20th century. Finally the restoration works started in 1990 and now you can see it in full glory!

Don’t miss Gyeonghoeru Pavilion and Hyangwonjeong Pond with a hexagonal pavilion of the same name inside the Gyeongbokgung Palace. These are the National treasures of South Korea - Gyeonghoeru Pavilion was even placed on the old 10.000 won banknote! First pavilion was built in 1412 and the current version remained almost intact after the Japanese invasion which is a really rare case because many buildings were destroyed. Its construction symbolises several ideas: of heaven, earth, man, and time.

The National Palace Museum of Korea and the National Folk Museum of Korea are located here as well.
